Fit counts
The right fit counts in hiring. In fact, it may ultimately be the single most telling factor. The failure rate for new executive hires is daunting. Research recently pegged it at 40% in the first 18 months. The main reason for these failures is fit.
There was a time when the employer took a gamble on the profile fit. It doesn’t happen anymore thanks to sophisticated assessment tools which analyze the cultural and behavioral leanings of the candidate and have thus taken a lot of the guesswork out.
